A rare cased Art Déco bronze medal commemorating the launch of the French battleship Dunkerque in 1935. The obverse features an allegory of France (or the city of Dunkirk), depicted as a nereid holding a trident and the heraldic arms of Dunkirk below. The reverse depicting the ship and the names of historical French mariners.
