A rare bronze medallion commemorating the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique's luxury passenger ship the 'Ile de France' in 1927. With a presention case from the 1949 post-war relaunch of the ship.

** The date of minting of this medallion is uncertain. My research has found only a few examples in museum collections and listed in previous auction sales, that date it at 1927. Some experts have informed me it could be a later commemorative medallion edited by Artus Bertrand in Paris. In any case it is a striking medallion.
