A fine and rare Art Déco ceramic figural group modelled as an elephant with an elephant calf on each side. Decorated with a grey craqueleure glaze and the plinth with a sponged violet glaze. Designed by Jean Baptiste Gauvenet in 1927 for the Sèvres Manufacture Nationale. Printed back stamp to base with year letter 'b' for 1929.
