An Art Nouveau gilt bronze vase in the form of an onion. The bottle form with slender elongated neck with trefoil rim, cast in low relief with unfurling leaves and floral head at the top. The base cast with coiling roots. Signed 'Susse Frères Editions, Paris with foundry cachet and the initials 'J.F'.

French, circa 1900

*While this specific example does not bear the signature 'Gautruche', it is a well documented design and there exist other examples bearing his mark, along with that of Susse Frères.
