A beautiful Symbolist ceramic bust of a young woman with braided hair and veil. The veil decorated in a pearlised / lustered blue glaze. Edited by Marcel Guillard for Edmond Etling et Cie after an original bronze by Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet.

Stamped on base with Editions Etling, Marcel Guillard, Collinet (sic) and 'France'.
Original paper label for Editions Etling, Paris to lower back.

  • Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1885–1972) was an important Belgian sculptor working in France from the 1920s-1950s. She is most noted for her detailed sculptures of exotic women with great movement.

  • Marcel Felix Guillard (1896-1963 born in Paris, was known as a painter, ceramicist and editor. He had a collaboration with Edmond Etling et Cie to produce ceramic works from the designs of various artists that were to be sold in Etling's Paris gallery.

CONDITION: Very Good Antique Condition. Gentle Crazing throughout.
