An Art Déco tessellated natural malachite lidded box. The stone is A Grade 'botryoidal banded' malachite, highly prized for its vibrant emerald-green hues and distinctive concentric rings. Sourced from either the Russian Demidov mines in the Ural Mountains or from Africa's Katanga Province in the former Belgian Congo.

Possibly made in France circa 1930s.
